(“Workers gained power”)
It is a second collection of short stories written by Walerian Domanski after “Smoke factories”. In his stories the author presents the effect of dilettante communistic government in Poland from the perspective of the common man.
Both – those who naively believed the promised bright future of Communism, as well as it avowed opponents – were sentenced to a bad life.
They were sentenced to non-stop task to finding ways of omitting bureaucratic nonsense. They were sentenced to life in poverty without hope of improving their fate.
Stories are very well crafted. Tragic situations often collide with humor, satire, and dramatic events. They are written in simple language without frills styling.
Must read!
